Supporting Start Up, Project Work, New Developments

A major part of our work is supporting communities, including their young people to set up the most appropriate youth provision for them.  This includes:

  • Consulting with young people and their communities on their needs, issues and aspirations

  • Mapping existing facilities and provision and highlighting gaps

  • Helping groups to establish themselves as a n organisation

  • Helping secure resources, negotiate facilities, apply for funding

  • Planning and organising activity programmes and events

  • Informing on best and safe practice

Over the last year examples of our support include:

  • Dorstone – constitution for new group

  • Greenways play – bank account opened and funding application supported

  • Tarrington – policy development in safeguarding

  • Cradley – job description, person specification for employing part time work

Established groups sometimes meet new challenges or wish to develop their work in new areas.  Our support to our member organisations has included:

  • Michaelchurch Escley – trying to get planning permission to extend their outdoor games areaOrleton – recruitment and selection for staff appointments
